The Benefits of H2O
Published by admin on April 10, 2008When we are young, we are often told to drink at least eight glasses of water a day to be healthy. As a kid then, following commands from elders is a must so I really drink the required number of glasses. And now that I am several years older, this health tip still pushes me to drink eight to ten glasses of water everyday.
Excessive loss of water in the body or Dehydration is something that can be detrimental to us and of course sufficient supply water is the only solution for this. Dehydration affects the activities of the different parts of our bodies like problems with thinking, concentration and balance; it can even alter blood flow.
Aside from keeping us away from dehydration, here are some of the reasons why drinking sufficient water a day makes us healthy.
- It enables our internal organs to function properly
- It keeps our skin clean, fresh and even free from blemishes
- It has zero calories and can control our weight
- Increases our energy to do activities
- Regulates body temperature
- Keeps the immune system healthy thus keeping us away from different illnesses
- Removes unwanted toxins and wastes in our body
- And most of all maintains our overall health
From the time drinking sufficient water everyday became a part of my daily routine, colds, cough and infections cannot even get close to me. Water may sometimes give a blank taste but because of the several health benefits it gives, I just tell myself: Bottoms up!
