Help from SSID

I am currently reading about social security disability insurance, particularly who are entitled to receive such kind of benefit. I know someone who is very close to my heart who got disabled in his work during his young adult years. It was really hard for him to cope up, especially then, when he was just starting to build his own family. My interest about SSID just popped out when I heard my parents talk about it and how another family friend was helped by such type of insurance.
